Velum

The Velum is the posterior prolongation of the roof of the mouth, where the Luette is attached. It consists of a membrane and Muscle S of which the goal is to allow the insulation of the nasal fossae of the oral cavity at the time of the Déglutition and the articulation of some Phonème S, by joining against the Cavum.
