Velebit (massive)

The Velebit is a coastal assembly line of the Adriatic Sea composing the the dinaric Alps, located in Croatia. It extends from Senj in the North-West with Knin in south-east.
It is generally divided into four distinct areas:
- the septentrional part enters the collars of Vratnik and Veliki Alan, culminating in Mali Rajinac (1699 m)
- the central part between the collars of Veliki Alan and Baške Oštarije, culminating in Šatorina (1624 m)
- the southernmost part between Oštarije and Mali Alan, culminating in Vaganski vrh (1757 m)
- the south-eastern part with the remarkable top of Crnopac
The solid mass shelters the National park of Paklenica and the Northern National park of Velebit.
It also has the deepest Grotte S broadest and of Croatia thanks to its nature ic Karst.
