Velaux

Velaux (in Occitan Of Provence Velaurs according to the traditional standard or Velaus according to the Standard mistralienne) is a commune of the department of the Rhone delta which belongs to the community Agglopole Provence.

Its inhabitants is called Velauxiens.

The commune is composed of two distinct parts.

Old part

The old village in matter of Provence was built on a headland with a medieval tower.

New part

The new village is installed since about fifteen years around the headland and on a vast neighbouring hill, the famous hill of Velaux.

Velaux is a beautiful village of Provence old installed on a hillock in height and dominates the plain back country of Aix west coast. It is strategically located in the middle of the triangle Aix-Marseilles-Living room and is surrounded by a green nature and slopes of vine. Velaux is likely thus to join together the peace of the countryside while being with 2 pas des great centres urban of the area.

Another part was creates in the years 2000, " Hamlets of Velaux " who is a residential district which does not cease increasing.
