Vebron or Vébron is a common French, located in the department of the Lozere and the area Languedoc-Roussillon. Its inhabitants is called Vebronnais.
Geography
Vebron is located between the
Gorges of the Tarn and the Gorges of Jonte, between the Causse Méjean, and the
the Cevennes, with the foot of the Mont Aigoual. Surrounded by schist and limestone, the village is spread out with the accesses of the
Tarnon which is thrown in the
Tarn with
Florac.
History
Vebron wants to say beaver into Cevennes. This animal was reintroduced and one can surprise it very close to the village, along the
Tarnon.
Moreover Vebron organizes each year a pedestrian Course called
the Round of the beavers around the
August 15th.

- the castle of Salgas used by the countess of Bernis.
- One can also speak about a place located under the hospitalet: the balsam dolente . It was about a place which at the time of the Dragonnades was similar to the museum of the desert with Mialet (Gard). Indeed this place being difficult access, it made it possible to the Protestants to be made a place of worship of it, without fear of reprisals.
Religious buildings
The church of Vebron was closed down by the
bishop of Mende. The building belongs from now on to the town hall of Vebron. Another church is located on the commune, with the hamlet of Cross-country race-Garnon, on the Causse Méjean. The furniture of the church of Vebron came to feed that of the church of Cross-country race-Garnon. The Temple protesting of Vebron, built by the inhabitants in
1823, was completely renovated in
2000. It is always used as place of worship for the Church reformed of France, and also became a cultural place where festivals, concerts and conferences proceed throughout the year.
Museums
Festival
- Since 1988, is held each year in Vebron the International festival of video film sponsored by the actress Bernadette Lafont. In 2008, it will be the 21st edition, it will take place from July 15th to 19th.
