One finds the first traces of the commune around the year 1000, in a donation of the church Saint Pierre (which one celebrated the millenium in 1995 symbolically) to the monks Benedictines of Savigny. The origin of the commune is certainly not foreign either with the existence of a very old transportation route probably of Roman origin or even older energy of Feurs with Saint Rambert.
