Vayres ( Vairas in Occitan) is a common French, located in the department of the High-Vienna and the area the Limousin.

The city is in the influence of the crater of the meteorite of Rochechouart.

Vayres deposited a request with the Council of State, that to change its name into that of Vayres-the-Pinks in reference to the hundreds of pinks which decorate the commune. Moreover, the streets of the village make all allusion to this flower.
