Vayrac

Vayrac is a common French, located in the department of the Lot and the area the Midday-Pyrenees. The inhabitants of Vayrac are " Vayraçois, Vayraçoises"

Geography

History

Vayrac has traces of Oppidum Gallic located at the Puy d' Issolud (approximately 300 m of altitude). This site is recognized officially to be the oppidum of Uxellodunum, where took place the last battle of Jules César into -51 against the Gallic rebels of after Alésia.

the museum of Uxellodunum, places of November 11th, 1918 at Vayrac, gathers the vestiges of the oppidum and reports the facts of the battle which proceeded there.
