At the 12th century the village depended on the town hall, prévôté and parish of Angeot. In 1441, Vauthiermont had a vault dedicated to Saint-Georges who was served in 1590 by the priest of Saint-Cosme but it is only in 1771 that it is set up in autonomous parish. A new church, devoted to Saint-Anthony, is then built.
