Vault of Good Pasteur
Located in the middle of the old Clermont, the vault of Good Pasteur built at the 17th century is remarkable, in particular, for its ceiling, gone back to 1657: 600 boxes out of wooden suspended and covered with flowers and landscapes, painted by the nuns of then. It belongs to a unit, the convent of the Ursulines, which is an accomplished example of the conventual architecture of the 18th century. It is there that Edouard Onslow, father of the type-setter George Onslow, met his future wife, Marie Bourdeilles de Brantôme, in 1782.
Of a capacity of 250 places, this vault, with cordial acoustics but specifies, accommodates regularly concerts and conferences; it is there that is held the season clermontoise Quatuor Preceded Vista.
