There are two castles with Vaugneray: - the castle of Bénévent, built in XIVe century, then modified at XVIe and XIXe centuries, located not far from the center, it today is parcelled out, inhabited by various families. - the castle of Hoirieu, located road of Yzeron. One finds foundation of the castle dating from the surroundings of 1200, then it was altered much and the current castle dates from the XIXe century.
