Vaudreuil is a common French, located in the department of the the Eure and the area High-Normandy.
Geography
History
The archers of Vaudreuil accompanied Guillaume at the time of the conquest by England and were distinguished with Hastings in 1066.After the conquest of Normandy, Vaudreuil becomes royal ground where Saint Louis will reside, Philippe Beautiful the, and Jean the Good. In 1657, Claude Girardin, large friendly of Fouquet builds a splendid castle in a formal garden, whose gardens are drawn by Ours. The castle will be destroyed in 1822.
In 1969, the two villages Our-Lady-of-Vaudreuil and Saint-Cyr-of-Vaudreuil amalgamate to become Vaudreuil. The charm of this commune of 3 500 inhabitants (often called the Vaudreuil-Village) is undeniable. Not to confuse with Valley-with-Reuil, its neighbor, the new City.
