Vaucouleurs (river)
The Vaucouleurs is a Rivière Yvelines (France), long 21,9 kilometers, Affluent of left bank of the the Seine. Its Bassin pouring covers 18.440 hectares and concerns approximately 30.000 people.
The name of “Vaucouleurs” means “coloured valley”.
The course of Vaucouleurs
It takes its source in the commune of Boissets, to 120 m of altitude, the borders of the department of Eure-et-Loir and runs in direction of north by sprinkling the communes of Civry-the-Forest, Montchauvet, Courgent, Septeuil, Rosay, the Villette, Vert, Auffreville-Brasseuil and Mantes-the-City where it is thrown in the Seine, with 17 meters of altitude, after having crossed the industrial park.Vaucouleurs receives two notable affluents: in Montchauvet, on its left bank, Ru of Ourville (10,2 km), and with Septeuil, on its Right Bank, Flexanville (11,1 km) which takes its source in the commune of the same name, grown bigger itself several tributary brooks, the Ru of the Mill of the Pond, the Ru of the Abbesses, the brook of Péreuse, the Ru of Aunay and the brook of Prunay
