Vauchassis

Vauchassis is a common French, located in the department of the Aube and the area Champagne-Ardenne. Its inhabitants is called the cosin (E) S.

Geography

Village cash 491 inhabitants, to 15 km in the south-west of Troyes, in the Country of Othe.

History

Its name derives from “chasseux Valley”, because of its situation to the hollow of a valley and of its giboyeuses forests. The church of the 12th century was initially a branch of Bercenay-in-Othe. In 1179, it belonged to the abbey of Saint-Germain of Auxerre.
