Vashti
The queen Vashti is a character of the Livre of Esther. At the beginning of the account, it is the wife of the king of Perse, Assuérus, before being repudiated to have refused to present itself in front of him and its guests at the time of a feast.
To replace it, the advisers of Assuérus organize a selection among the young girls of the kingdom. Esther is chosen by Assuérus to become its new queen.
Pierre Matthieu made a tragedy of it.
