The Variations on a topic of Paganini, COp 35 were written by Johannes Brahms in 1862 -63 and gather two books of 14 variations resting on the topics of the 24 {{E}} whim, COp 1 of Niccolò Paganini. They are characterized by an execution virtuoso particularly. Clara Schumann treated them “variations of wizard” and initially refused to play them by regarding them as “indigestible”. First part:
