Variable Distribution

The variable distribution is a generic term to indicate a technology relating to the Engine spark-ignition .

It makes it possible to vary the chock, the duration of opening and/or the lifting of the Soupape S of admission and exhaust, primarily according to the mode, of the load and the request for acceleration with for benefit a coupleux with low mode, powerful engine with high mode, a better output (allowing the operation of the engine in cycle and the reduction in the losses by pumping) and a less pollution.

The most succeeded form of the variable distribution is certainly the system + developed by BMW and adopted on assembled engines PSA/BMW on average range at PSA and on the Minis (in particular 1.6 120 ch).

However, the tendency is with the implementation of the variable distribution without camshafts, by replacing the latter by actuateurs (technology Camless, which Marie ideally with it), increasing the above-mentioned benefit further.
