Variégation
see also: Etymology of Variégation
The variegation is observed during the mosaic gene extinction for example. This is due to the Effet position of an allele (conformation chromatinienne in which it is located, to see epigenetic), and neither with its own sequence coding nor with its regulating sequences. The variegation is thus due to the modification of factors hétérochromatiniens. The effect can be in the direction of an activation of the form of gene (passage of a heterochromatic structure to euchromatic) or of an inactivation (euchromatic worms heterochromatic).
