It is often known as that Valves-the-Châtel shelters crystal manufactures Daum and of Sevres whereas initially crystal manufacture was always on the territory of Allamps (in the past founded Verrerie Schmidt in 1765), the extensions then gave rise to Workshops to Valves-the-Châtel as well as the establishment of the CERFAV (Center European of Research and Formation to Glass Arts).
