Value of the biodiversity
The types of value of the biodiversity are used by the economists to estimate the economic value of the biodiversity.
According to many economists, the economic value of a well depends on the utility, of the Bien-être which it gets to the individuals.
Within the framework of the economic evaluation of the Biodiversity, one distinguishes the following values:
-
direct Practical values : production of foodstuffs, of Wood for fire, of raw material for the Drug S, tallies tourist…
-
indirect Practical values : they are primarily derived from the functions ecological, protection of the ground against the erosion, filtering of the Eau, balance of the ecosystem S
-
Price of option : it is the price granted to the conservation of a credit for a future use (for example, the safeguarding of a plant known for its medical interest)
-
Price of quasi-option : it is relating to the conservation of a credit, whose interest is not shown yet, for a future use (for example, the safeguarding of unknown plants, for still unknown uses)
-
Values of disuse , or intrinsic values : they are relating to the satisfaction of knowing that a credit or a desirable irrefutable fact exists. These values are often related to the concepts of Justice, Droit of the future generations or respect of Nature and make it possible to justify the protection of Espèce S or natural sites known. One speaks about value of leg when it is related to the fact of transmitting an inheritance to the future generations and of value of existence when it is simply related to the fact of existing.
