Valtice ( Feldsberg in German) is a village close to Břeclav in Moravie of the South, Tchéquie, famous for its castle and the park of this one, registered on the list of the World heritage and being next to that of Lednice.
History
The village is a German colony rested by the bishops of
Passau at the 12th century. Of
1391 with
1945 it is property of the princes of
Liechtenstein who gradually transform the village of Valtice and the borough close to
Lednice into a complex of castles, gardens, madnesses and parks single in Europe with a surface of 200 km (either a surface more important than the only mountainous principality of Lichtenstein).
Valtice is not attached to the okres (canton) of Mikulov in Czechoslovakia only on December 31st, 1920, having hitherto belonged to the Low-Austria.

Castle of Valtice
Work of
Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach, it is built by the Italian project superintendent Martinelli in the years 1643 - 1730 and replaces a Gothic
burg and a Renaissance palate of which remains only two towers integrated into the commun runs.
Organized on a square level, it comprises a theater rococo, a salted terrena', a picture gallery, reception rooms, the whole on three stages.
Park of Valtice
The gardens are planted in 1727 within G. Girard. They are extended to XIXe when a park landscape theirs is assistant.
Appointment
Also called the Temple of Diane, the Appointment (in French) is a romantic construction built between 1810 and 1812 in the fields of the architect J.L. Hardmuth and evokes a Roman Triumphal arch. It is located in the middle of a wood, to 1,5 km in the east of the castle of Valtice.
Colonnade
The colonnade is located on a height dominating the village of Valtice distant of 1,5 km. It is built between 1817 and 1823 per J. Popellack on the model of that of the Château of Schönbrunn. From here, there is a panoramic sight on the surroundings, of
Mikulov to
Lednice.
St-Hubert vault
The romantic vault Neo-gothic dedicated to Holy Hubert, owner of the hunters, is built in 1855 within J. Wingemüller. It rests on three pillars and has a richly carved roof. It is located at surroundings 3 km of Valtice.
Madness of the three Graces
Installed in 1825 to 4 km in the North-West of Valtice, the
Three gràces is the work of Mr. Fischer, sheltered by a neo-classic madness within K. Engel.
Church of the Rise
Built in style baroque between 1631 and 1671 per J. Carlon and Gian Giacomo Tencalla. It is richly decorated with stuccos.
