Valley of Entremont
The valley of Entremont is a valley of Suisse in the District of Entremont in Valais. The valley of Entremont makes it possible to join Italy via the Col of the Large-Saint-Bernard and the Tunnel of the Large-Saint-Bernard.
Geography
Sprinkled by the Dranse d' Entremont, the valley of Entremont joined the Val of Bagnes to the height of Sembrancher. With the Dranse de Bagnes, Dranse d' Entremont forms the Dranse which runs out until Martigny before joining the the Rhone.De Sembrancher, the valley of Entremont is directed towards the south. With the height of Orsières (901 m), it is divided into two branches; that located at the west forms the Val Tag. The valley of Entremont continues its rise in direction of Liddes and Bourg-Saint-Pierre. It is bordered in the east by the solid mass of the Grand Combin. After Bourg-saint-Pierre, the bottom of the valley shelters the Lac of Toules which is an artificial reserve.
The end of the lake and the valley of Entremont marks the beginning of the road of the Col of the Large-Saint-Bernard. The northern gate of the road tunnel of the same name is a few hundred meters further.
