Valley of Barétous

The valley of Barétous is a Vallée the French Pyrenees, located in the department of the Yrénées-Atlantiques in area Aquitaine.
Geography
Sprinkled by the Green of Arette and the Green of Barlanès which meet with height of Aramits to form the Vert, it is most Western of the three principal valleys Béarn eases digging the chain of the Pyrenees.It is composed of six communes: Aramits, Lanne-in-Barétous, Arette, Ance, Féas and Issor.
Joint valley with the Valley of Winder, it is also the last valley before the Basque Country (province of Soule).
It communicates with the High-Navarre ( Isaba , in the Vallée of Roncal) by the collar of Pierre Saint Martin's day.
History
The Junte of Roncal is a treaty passed between the French shepherds and the Spanish shepherds six centuries ago. Each year, one celebrates and one renews this treaty. During a ceremony, which takes place the July 13rd, in Pierre Saint Martin's day, the shepherds swear harmony and mutual aid.
