Valira

The Valira is a Pyrenean river , affluent right of the Sègre, which collects water of the principality of Andorra. It sprinkles most of this country, except for the Solana d' Andorre, which is on the slope of the Ariège. Valira takes its source in the Circ dels Pessons, in the parish of Encamp (Andorre) and traverses the country of north in the south, being thrown in Sègre, after having exceeded Seu d' Urgell (Lérida, Spain).
Valira with the form of a Y . The higher arms are consisted the Valira of north and the Valira of the East. They meet in the commune of Escaldes-Engordany, from which, the river takes the name of large Valira .
Valira and its many affluents, lakes and retained, accommodate inter alia specimens of Pyrenean fauna the Truite fario, the salmon Trout and the Loutre.
