Valiant Raymond

Raymond Vaillant (January 21st 1935 - February 18th 2006) is a Compositeur French, born with Moncontour (Vienna).

Biography

He occupied of the April 2nd 1962 until in 1995 the post of librarian to the National library, the department of the music to the Opéra of Paris where he will complete an immense work of Paléographie, identifier and indexing the works preserved since the first French opera “ Pomone ” of Robert Cambert to the most recent works.

The daily frequentation of the manuscripts of the large Masters of the past will have been a priceless enrichment.

Since 1968, Raymond Vaillant composes of works which, combining the rigor and the emotion, draw to him the attention of the critics and the public.

This work, initially written for four votes soloists and organ with considering a second version for chorus with four mixed votes, of the solos being requested from the first desks, and orgue.
Creation: Sunday, May 15, 1977 in the church of the Abbey of Hauvillers by the vocal ensemble " Alternance" at the time of the sixth centenary of died of Guillaume de Machault.
(In the program, also the mass " appeared; The GROUND F RE MI" of Josquin of the Meadows.)
Composition of the vocal ensemble " Alternance": Ghislaine Victorius, soprano; Nicole Oxombre, contralto; Robert Dumé, tenor and Claude Meloni, low. Francoise Rieunier touched the organ, all were placed under the direction of Boris de Vinogradov.
