Valgamaa

The maakond of Valga (or Valgamaa ) is one of the 15 areas of Estonia. It is located at the south of the country, at the border of the Latvia. It surrounds the small town of Valga.

With 35.540 inhabitants (January 2006), it represents less than 3% of the population of the country, for a surface of 2.044 km ².

The close areas are Viljandimaa in the North-West, Tartumaa in north, Põlvamaa in the North-East and Võrumaa in the east.
