Valentine Kataiev

Valentine Petrovitch Kataiev (ВалентинКатаев) born the January 28th 1897 with Odessa, dead the April 12th 1986 with Moscow, is a Soviet writer, author mainly of novels and plays. Its art to treat in an ironic but light way and without political criticism enabled him always to remain " well in cour" and to make a brilliant career within the framework da Soviet literature. Its talent, its gift of imagination, its sensitivity and its originality ensured a place to him noticed.

In France it is known only by one of its plays, " I want to see Mioussov" , a comedy, which presents in a slightly ironic way but especially of comic unslung and without claim them heavinesses of the Soviet administration. The French version of this part was a great success.

It started to write news in 1916. In 1920 he worked as journalist. Its novel Rastratchiki (1926) is the picaresque history of two adventurers in the tradition of Gogol.
