Valencian general information

The Valencian Généralité ( Generalitat Valenciana in Valencian, Generalidad Valenciana in Castilian) is the whole of the institutions of government of the autonomous Communauté of Valence, in Spain. It includes/understands the the Valencian Cortes (or " Corts"), the presidency of the Valencian General information and the Government (or Consil , Consell ). The statutory and official name of this organization is simply Généralité (" Generalitat").

The current Valencian General information was created in 1982, after approval of the statute of Autonomy corresponding.

History

The Corts of Valencia of 1418 created the Diputació del General (by simplification, Generalitat or Generalidad ), with one duration of the three years loads, having a function executive and administrative, like currently the Government has it.

The Cortes of 1510 reorganized the designation of the loads of the Generalitat , in a more automatic and less elective direction. This organization with this structure, institutionalized itself and maintained itself for all the modern time, until its total extinction, in 1709.

The Generalitat Valenciana was restored, with a completely different operation in order to adapt to modern times, in 1982.
