Geography
History
The village, primarily agricultural, is known since the 12th century and depends on the Seigneurie of Cicon. With the invasion of the Swedes at the 17th century in the province of Franche-Comté (the War Ten Year old of 1635 - 1644), the commune was plundered and burned.
The most tragic episode of the commune is the Assassinat the August 27th 1944 of eight civilians, five men and three women by the Milice.
The commune accommodates a camp Militaire of 3.500ha since 1907. In 1978, the military camp then becomes a camp of Régiment and either of operations only. Since 2003 is stationed there the 13th regiment of the Genius.
