Vala Mal Doran is a character of the universe of fiction of the Televised series Stargate SG-1 , interpreted by the actress Claudia Black.

She appears for the first time in the episode 8x12 " In détresse" , where it steals the Prométhée in order to exchange it against stocks of Naquadah with two mercenaries of Lucienne Alliance. Daniel Jackson manages to take again the control of the Prométhée and Vala is imprisoned in the vessel. But Vala escapes on board a Al' kesh.

Vala returns in the first episode of season 9 to seize the treasure of Avalon on Earth, of which she learned the existence thanks to a shelf from Old. For that, it binds to Daniel using special bracelets who connects their two physics and returns them depending one on the other. Those were used by the Goa' uld so that their Jaffa do not let their prisoners flee. If Vala and Daniel move away too one from the other, they lose consciousness and end up dying both. Accompanying Daniel in the galaxy by origin of the Old , which is also that of the Ori, Vala is likely to die to have profaned the beliefs of the autochtones under the influence of creatures alive on another plan: Oris.

Of return in the Milky Way, it is obliged to take part in forwardings of SG-1. Indeed, even after having withdrawn the bracelet which connected it to Daniel, the couple donot can still live independently of the different one, and thus it must remain near this last to avoid dying. It joint then with the combat of SG-1 and fact inter alia failing of the negotiations with a senator of the the United States of America who wants to notably lower the subsidies touched by the SGC. In a mission which turns terribly badly, where a Preacher of Ori took the control of a Jaffa planet, Vala tries to expose its action plan, but nobody listens to it, as usual. It carries out only its perilous plan then to prevent the assembly of a super door of stars of the Ori. Its plan is a success, but it is transported in the galaxy of the Ori, whereas it tried to join the Prométhée by the rings of transport.

In the galaxy of the Ori, Vala is obliged to dissimulate its impiété in order to remain in life. It Marie and it falls pregnant, inséminée by the capacity of the Ori. She is shown of heresy by the Administrator of the village where she resides and she finds herself connected on the furnace bridge, without water and food. In a dream, it is in its bed and it sees a being of fire above it. It is finally released by her husband. She will learn later that, as she feared it, its baby is intended to help the cause of Oris by leading the crusades which the believers against the irreligious people prepare. Having taken contact with members of resistance against the Ori, Vala succeeds in contacting the SGC to inform them that Ori are about to send their vessels in the Milky Way. It goes up in one of the vessels of the Ori and it assists, impotent, with the destruction of the allied fleet against the Ori at the exit of the news superporte of stars in the Milky Way.

Whereas the battle makes rage and that the team of SG1 seems dedicated to an unquestionable death, the contractions are felt, and Vala puts at the world a little girl that it names Adria, and who with the strange ability to grow very quickly to become in a few days an young woman ready to defend the cause of its creators malefic. This little girl, fruit of the will of Ori, is intended to become the new leader of the armies of the Ori who will lead them to the victory. After the defeat of the Earth and its allies Jaffa, Vala finds Daniel on board a Ori vessel. Those, after having tried to rejoin Adria with their cause, flee of the vessel and join the members of SG-1 on board the Odyssée.
