Valère Passelecq

Valère Passelecq , born with Ixelles on March 22nd, 1919, decapitated with Wolfenbüttel on June 7th, 1944 is a resistant Belgian and a Walloon militant.

Active member of the Circle of the Walloon students of the ULB, it: fact also part of the Walloon Concentration and makes each year the annual pilgrimage with the monument of Plancenoit of " wounded eagle (Waterloo)

It makes the Campagne the 18 day old, refuses to give up the fight, passes in England where it acquires the rank of lieutenant parachutist. It is then parachuted in Belgium on February 28th 1942; meet Robert Thonon of which it will divide the combat then the captivity (following a treason) and finally death after being condemned to this sorrow by a German court

The Cercle of the Walloon students of the ULB regularly paid to him homage at the beginning of June each year because of courage and the patriotism of which had been proof these old Walloon Circle of the ULB

The Encyclopédie of the Walloon Movement writes some lines on this very short life in its Volume III, p.1239.

With the n° 71 of the Rue Mercelis with Ixelles a plate is affixed with the frontage of the building pointing out the essence of these facts
