Vagotomy

The vagotomy is the surgical section Pneumogastric nerve, or Vagus, on the level of the Abdomen.

Indications

The vagotomy can constitute an effective intervention in the event of ulcer gastroduodénal. The pneumogastric nerve is indeed responsible for the acid secretion of the stomach, which supports the appearance of ulcers.

The indications of the vagotomy were made exceptional by the progress made in the medical care of the Ulcère gastroduodénal.
