In order to lay out with few expenses a new model which was to replace the 411, Volkswagen which had just repurchased Audi in 1965 and NSU in 1969, borrowed from this last one of its models which was to leave in 1970 instead of starting from a white sheet for creation its new truck. Thus was born the VW K70.
It was the first traction before Volkswagen. In 1973, it is replaced by the Volkswagen Passat.
