the VRP is a parodic group of Rock born in 1988 with Paris, which one sometimes compared with " Brothers Jacques " under acid.

History of the group

In 1988 the beginnings of the VRP are done in the street. In front of their disguises (complete too short, make-up with excess…) and their music interfered with the theater street, the passers by stop fascinated in front of five strange characters: Fabrice, Stephan, Marc, Gilbert and Gilberd.

Their resumption of Alexandria Alexandra of Claude François is a certain success. In front of the foreseeable success of the song, the VRP are detached some to propose their own texts (mild nutters with wish) and leave their first album in 1989. Their texts reflect their frame of mind, passably insane. No party taken nor engagement with share can be for the French language (all their songs are in French, except Three).

The VRP côtoient large alternative Rock of the time: Mano Negra, Wampas, Satellite… and collaborates with others to write the songs Stellamentable with Sttellla, the misery of the vulgar voices with Gina and Worst the, Sidney with the Babylon Fighters. The year 1990 mark the exit of their second album. The VRP pass then to the Olympia then start a series of voyages through the Europe then the Japan, the Canada, the Senegal. Their success near the public is increasingly important. They are of all the festivals and fill the big rooms at the sides of the Mano Negra or Noir Desire.

Their last album, Prolonged Vacances (left in 1992) announces the color. The VRP then decide to be scuttled at the top of their glory not to institutionalize themselves and lose themselves. A beautiful evening of 1993, with the Zenith of Montpellier, at the time of General states of the Rock'n'roll, they bid their farewell with the scene by a concert destroy where they throw their instruments with the public, thus sealing their career asteroid through the French musical landscape of the beginning of the Années 1990.

One will find them in the Nineties in several groups of the French musical landscape, in particular the Nonnes Troppo.

The contrebassinist of the group continues a career solo under the name of Néry.

Style of the group

In addition to two guitars, all the other instruments of the VRP are arranged: against-bathe of Stephan (brush, cord and bucket), a brush of crockery, an attach3e case, spoons for the percussionnist Marc, a piano of child for Gilbert without forgetting cans and other ustensils.

Their music is removed from rim and unclassable, a kind of popular song is delirious about it perpetual, as much on an instrumental level that on the level of the texts.

The VRP remain before a whole group of scene perhaps, though they feel even more at ease in the street or the small bars, in spite of their success in more the big rooms. Improvisation with excess, the VRP enguirlandent the public, they put their spectators literally at knees before going to see elsewhere and making dance a endiablée waltz and without music! Each concert was a new spectacle: one realizes some easily by listening to their rare lives recorded ( I do not like the VRP, especially in concert , 1990, Caen or the VRP in Training course ).

They exerted an important influence on other French groups, (the Howls of Léo make them a direct wink, by their name in reference to the song " Léo" VRP).
