VMU: (Visual Memory Unit is Visual Unité of Memory)

The VMU is a memory card developed by the company Sega comprising a screen LCD to be able to play mini-plays but to also see animations at the time of parts played on Dreamcast. Its original name is VMS for " Visual Memory System". It was named thus in Japan and the United States. Name VMU was only intended only for Europe. The VMU with a capacity of 1 Mo is 255 " blocks" but of the editors developed models going of 2 Mo and even up to 4 Mo.

This jewels of technology, it should nevertheless be recognized, also makes it possible to dispute mini-plays with 2: it is enough to connect 2 VMUs one with the other.
