VEU Feldkirch is a club of Hockey of Austria. The club is based in the town of Feldkirch and evolves/moves in the second Austrian division after the Österreichische Eishockey-Liga , the National league.

History

The first club bearing the name of the town of Feldkirch made its beginnings in 1927 under the name of EHC Feldkirch. In 1970, the club changes name and takes the name of VEU Feldkirch.

The great time of the team takes place starting from the Années 1980 with the championship of Austria in 1981-82, 1982-83, 1983-84, 1989-90, 1993-94, 1994-95, 1995-96, 1996-97 and 1997-98.

The team also gains the Alpine Ligue in 1995-96, 1996-97, 1997-98 and 1998-99 as well as the European Ligue of hockey in 1998.

Following the bankruptcy of the team, a new team is created in 2000 and it gains the championship of the National league of Austria in 2006-07.

Old personalities of the club

  • Reinhard Divis began its career in the club in 1995.
  • Bengt-Åke Gustafsson belongs to the champion team of Europe in 1998.
  • Kjell Samuelsson former player of the National league of hockey of Swedish origin finishes its career of player within the club in 1999.
