A V10 is an engine in a configuration out of V which has 10 cylinders.

The V10 configuration is structurally unbalanced in the vertical plan and causes a vibratory couple which requires a tree of balancing. That makes it impossible to thus conceive without use of the Informatique before the Années 1980.

Examples of V10 engines

V10 are still rare for the ordinary motor vehicles but the standard for the Formule 1 of 1989 with 2005.
In Formule 1, Renault had, in 2002 and 2003, an engine more opened with 110˚, which makes it possible to lower the center of gravity of that Ci.
