Vörstetten

Vörstetten (or Voerstetten) is a commune of the district of Emmendingen in Bade-Wurtemberg located at a few kilometers in the north of Freiburg-in-Brisgau, with 20 kilometers with flight d´oiseau of the French border.

History

Archaeological excavations have attested human presence on the current territory of the commune of Vörstetten for more than 7.000 years. The first document written on Vörstetten goes back to the year 993.

Vörstetten had its fine golden age XVIIIe - beginning XIXe. One finds today approximately 70 more half-timbered houses built between 1770 and 1820. Another characteristic of Vörstetten: orchards. Vörstetten thus has the title of " Village of the half-timbered houses and the trees fruitiers".

Twinnings

The commune of Vörstetten is twinned with the common Frenchwomen of Étrat and La_Tour-en-Jarez in the the Loire (department).
