Võ-Lâm
The Võ-Lâm is a Vietnamese Martial art .
What is what Võ-Lâm?
According to his practitioners, one could compare Võ-Lâm with a large secular tree on which various leagues or federations of martial arts, seraint only branches, brushwood, sheets or buds.For them, the method of the nine dragons would represent the technique of the numbers, which would be most complete since antiquity until our days. It is the preliminary technique of test, used by all the Masters of martial arts to select their disciples.
History

Before the Buddhist era , with the country of the Bonzes (Tâm-Tang), there was a technique of boxing called Cuu-Length ( Last nine Dragons ). This boxing was practiced per many autochtones and particularly by the monks of which some were Master in this Article.

It is only at the Buddhist era that the Masters planned to propagate this technique throughout the world. After being itself made up in assembly, they unanimously decided to retain the virtue and technicality like fundamental criteria of their teaching.Three years later, the Masters disciples reflect as in point 18 techniques of combat. After 13 years of research and improvement, the new Masters chose 18 names of Bouddha to name each one of these techniques. Once the regulation of these techniques established, they appointed 12 bonzes among most educated and most virtuous to exempt the teaching of these 18 techniques known as Thap Bat Han ( 18 rules of the boxing of the Buddha ). At the end of six years of instruction and drive, the latter had the role, each one near a different area, to propagate their knowledge.
Missionaries
The 12 missionaries achieved their task. Maître Pho Minh was with the the Indies. Master Pho Quang with the the Middle East. In the prosperous countries and in peace, the Masters taught only the Tir with the arc and the Tai Chi Chuan. In China, country in permanent state of war and of social disorder, the Master had taught martial arts. In this country the success was large as well on the martial level as spiritual.
Bodhidharma
Well later, it is the Master missionary Bodhidharma who brought a structuring to the order of Võ-Lâm. After having remained in the north of China, it decided to emigrate definitively in the south. Nevertheless before leaving, it founded an organization based on the techniques of Võ-Lâm: the federation COM Lu Year belonged to this organization of which one of the disciples who resided on the Mount My Duong was the founder of the branch of Vietnamese martial arts.Arrived in the south of the China, the Master Bodhidharma missionary fixed himself definitively on the Tung Mount Its where it created the educational establishment of the virtues and techniques of Võ-Lâm. Its disciples created various federations:

- In the south:
- Nga semi
- Thieu lâm
- Vo dang
- Bach hac
A source, Võ-Lâm
In spite of the membership of where the other of these federations, all disciples belongs well to the same family of Võ-Lâm. Thus safety with the founder remains identical.It is agreed by the Masters in Vietnam, that all the federations where current leagues of martial arts result from the same source Võ-Lâm. In particular, branches of the Kung fu, the Taekwondo and the Karate. It is they which hold the most knowledge of the concept virtues and techniques of Võ-Lâm. Certain schools are in hot line with Võ-Lâm. With the Vietnam, the school Tinh Võ-Ðao, in France the school Võ-Lâm-Hoi Cửu-Length Võ-Đạo.
According to the law of evolution , any thing reaching its apogee, will see its decline gradually. For several centuries, Võ-Lâm has fallen into the lapse of memory from the contemporary generations. According to its partisans, today, it could exist somebody able to know or hold in a complete way the techniques of Võ-Lâm.
Admission requirements
Formerly, to be a disciple of Võ-Lâm, i.e. to claim to receive the teaching of martial arts, it was necessary to show courage and to raise many challenges. Then to lend oath in front of the furnace bridge of the founders.
