Ángel Víctor Paz Estenssoro was born the October 2nd 1907 with Tarija, place where he will die the June 7th 2001.

It is in 1941 that it founds with other political parties like some intellectuals, the “nationalist revolutionary movement” (MNR - Movimiento Nacionalista Revolucionario ). There will remain president of the MNR lasting nearly 50 years. He was also Minister for the economy in 1941.

He was elected president of the Bolivia to four recoveries. In 1951, it gains the elections however the army prohibits the access of them to him. The MNR then launches, in 1952, a revolution and requires new elections; what it obtains. He is thus elected for the first time the April 15th 1952. During its presidency, it founds the vote for all, redistributes the grounds of the country, improves education of the rural population, and nationalizes the largest mining companies of the country. Its mandate finishes the August 6th 1956. He is then elected for the second time the August 6th 1960. It once again re-elected and this for the third time the August 6th 1964. However, it does not finish this third mandate and remains only 3 months. It is its vice president, Rene Barrientos Ortuño which replaces president the November 4th 1964. Its last mandate of president began the August 6th 1985 to finish the August 6th 1989. He is the president who controlled Bolivia longest with a 12 years total and 7 months.
