Véranne

Véranne is a common French, located in the department of the the Loire and the area the Rhone-Alps.

Geography

Véranne is a small village of 620 inhabitants located in the department of the Loire (42, Rhone-Alps area) and more precisely in the Regional natural park of Pilat. The village has a surface of 1.626 hectares and is located at an altitude of 580 meters. Of his small borough with many houses with apparent stones, one can see the Alps in clear weather. History

One can note prehistoric vestiges and ancient megaliths with cups, defensive enclosures of the age of Iron. On the site of the Saint-Sabin vault were carried out archaeological excavations which highlighted the presence of Celts in the area The village of Véranne was mentioned as of the 10th century.
