Vémars is a commune of the Val-d'Oise located in flat of France, to approximately 30 km in the North-East of Paris and with 6km of the Aéroport Roissy-Charles-of-Gaulle.

Perhaps the name of Vémars comes from Latin vetus , old man and mansum , rural field or " vetere mansio" , old woman remains.

the church Saint-Pierre-and-Saint-Paul was built as from the 16th century. The square bell-tower-turn with buttresses of angle, imposing, would go back to first half of the 17th century. The original is preserved in town hall.
The hotel-of-city is installed in the castle of the Mound , acquired by François Mauriac in 1951. A small museum is devoted to the author.
