Václav (Wenzel) Pichl is a Czech Compositeur , born the September 25th 1741 with Bechyne (close to Tábor in Bohemia) and dead the January 23rd 1805 with Vienna
Biography
Of modest family, it begins her musical studies with Jan Pokorny, cantor of its birthplace. In 1753, he becomes chorus-singer with the college Jesuit of Breznice, then goes to Prague where he is violonist with the seminar, while continuing studies of philosophy, theology and right to the university.In 1765, the type-setter Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf engages it as violonist and directing assisting orchestra of évèque of Grosswardein (today Oradea, in Romania). The two men quickly become friendly. After a turning by Prague in 1769, then Vienna (1770-1775), Pichl is named choirmaster near the archduke Ferdinand d' Este, Austrian governor of the Lombardy and wire of the empress Marie-Therese. It remains in Italy during more than twenty years, period during which it meets the type-setters Pietro Nardini, Giovanni Battista Martini and Luigi Cherubini.
It goes back to Vienna in 1796 with the invasion of Lombardy by French, and remains there until its death (except a visit in Prague in 1802, with his/her daughter).

- 30 Concertos
- Chamber music: many parts of which works for baritone , an instrument with bow whose prince Nicolas Esterhazy, employer of Joseph Haydn, raffolait.
- 20 operas
- 30 masses
Discography
Some of its symphonies were redécouvertes by a specialist unit in the contemporaries in Mozart and Haydn, the London Mozart Players.
