Uwe Seeler
Uwe Seeler , born the November 5th 1936 with Hamburg (Germany), was a Football German or which played for the Hamburg SV and for the team of Germany. It took part four times in the Football world cup.
Career of player
In club
He regularly played its first match (friendly) for the flag team of the HSV in 1953 when he was only 16 years old, then since 1954 in championship with an exceptional permission of the German Federation. He gained nine times the championship of the League of North in Germany (1955 to 1963), marking 267 goals during 237 matches.
Seeler played then 239 matches of Bundesliga with the Hamburg SV and marked 137 goals. With this team, it gained a Championnat of Germany (victory in 1960 against FC Cologne by 3-2 with two goals of Seeler) and a German cut ( DFB-Pokal ), victory in 1963 by 3-0, with a triplet of Seeler), but it did not gain a European trophy, its best result being a place of finalist of the Coupe of Europe of the winners of cuts in 1968.
In spite of offers of large foreign clubs, in particular Inter Milan, it remained faithful to the club of Hamburg SV, decision which contributed much to the popularity of Uns' Uwe ( Notr' Uwe in French). He played 29 European meetings and marked 21 goals.
Seeler was better German striker with four recoveries, and the first best striker of the Bundesliga in 1964. All confused competitions, it marked more than 400 goals in its career.
It was designated as “Better German player” in 1960, 1964 and 1970.
In 1978, it made a return surprised to the competition by playing a match of the Championnat of Ireland.
In national team
Seeler made its beginnings in the team of Germany in October 1954 against the team of France.Between 1954 and 1970, Seeler had 72 selections in the team of Germany and marked 43 goals.
Seeler took part in the final stage of the world cup of 1958, world cup of 1962, world cup of 1966 (demolished finally against the team of England) and world cup of 1970. He played 21 matches of Football world cup and marked 9 goals.
Seeler was 40 times captain of the team of Germany. After its career it was appointed Capitaine of honor of the German team (decoration only conceded with three other players: Fritz Walter before Seeler, Franz Beckenbauer and Lothar Matthäus later).
In 2003, the Senate of Hamburg decreed the Citoyen title to him of honor of the city.
What it became
Since 1961 Seeler works like representative of Adidas; after its career it founds a company of clothing. Moreover, it was one of the first German players to make publicity with the cinema and on television (for a lotion of after-shave inter alia).It also trained a National team of tradition ( Uwe-Seeler-Traditionself ) with approximately 60 ex-pros who disputes 10 to 15 matches of charity per annum in changing composition.
In 1995, Seeler assumed the chairmanship of the Hamburg SV, station which it will occupy during two years and half - unfortunately surrounded by a steering committee which produced several negative financial cuffs and in a sporting phase sinks of " son" HSV.
