Uwe Ampler is an old runner German cyclist , born the August 11th 1964 with Zerbst.
His/her father Klaus was itself racing cyclist in the Sixties.
Excel amateur, it gained several national and international titles:
- World champion on road amateur in 1986.
- Olympic champion c.l.m. by teams in 1988.
- 2 times World champion juniors c.l.m. by teams in 1981 and 1982.
- 4 times Champion of GDR on road in 1980 and 1982 junior category and in 1984 and 1987 of amateur category.
- Champion of GDR c.l.m. by amateur teams in 1985.
- Champion of GDR amateur on track with American in 1986.
- 4 times winner of the Race of Peace in 1987 (24 years after his/her father), 1988, 1989 (These 3 victories of amateur category) and in 1998.
It will become professional in 1990 and until in 1999 with an interruption of 1994 will remain it with 1996. It will gain 10 victories there.
