Uvernet-furnaces
Uvernet-Furnaces is a common French, located in the department of the Alp-of-High-Provence and the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure, close to the Vallée of Ubaye.
Its inhabitants is called Uvernetais.
Geography
- the commune is in the small valley of Bachelard, has some kilometers of Barcelonnette. It is on the road towards the Col of Cayolle.

It gathers several villages and hamlets disseminated in the throats of Bachelard: Uvernet, Furnaces, the St. Lawrence, Saint-Louis, Bayasse, Agneliers.
History

Before the Revolution, the hamlets of Uvernet-Furnaces were administratively under the dependence of Barcelonnette. In 1790, two communes were create: Uvernet and Fours, which was attached in 1973 to form the current commune of Uvernet Fours.

Until the 19th century, the hamlets of Uvernet-Furnaces were known for their original folklore.
