the uvarovite (or uvarovite) is a Nésosilicate of the family of the Grenat S chromiferous calcic. Its chemical formula is CaCr (SiO). Its name comes from Russian S.S. Ouvarov (1786-1855).

Uvarovite often meets in the chromium layers.
