The Uusimaa of the East is the name of a area of the south-east of the Finland, pertaining to the province of southernmost Finland. It has as a capital Porvoo.

Geography
The area is smallest of Finland. It is bordered in the south by the Golfe of Finland. The border regions are: in north the Päijät-Häme, the east the Valley of Kymi, in the west the Uusimaa.
History
The area corresponds to the part center-is old historical province of Uusimaa. In 1997, to try to reduce the influence of Helsinki, it was decided to divide old the Uudenmaan lääni (province of Uusimaa), with in the west current Uusimaa around Helsinki and in the east a new area around the historical capital of the province, Porvoo: Uusimaa of the East.

10 municipalities compose the area, including 2 cities (in fat). It will be noted that Pernå and Liljendal are the two common to Eastern majority suédophones of the country.
