Uster
Uster is a common Suisse of the Canton of Zurich.
Geography
The town of Uster, principal industrial center of Oberland inhabitant of Zurich, is located at the edge of the Greifensee, at an altitude of 464 meters.It includes the territory of eleven formerly independent communes.
History
The name of Uster is mentioned for the first time in 775. The locality passed to the hands of the town of Zurich in 1474.The castle was built in XIesiècle. Until 1534, it was the seat of the barons de Bonstetten. It was transformed into prison of the district.
Industrialization started at the beginning of XIXesiècle, with the spinning mills and the manufacture of the power looms.
