Uriel

Uriel is the name given to an angel and which means “Light of Hebrew God” in .

Tradition Judeo-Christian

Not once the Bible does not mention angel of the name of Uriel. However at the beginning of the Christianity, one assisted with the emergence of a worship dedicated to Uriel without one knowing precisely from where it came. The Church very quickly prohibited it. Indeed in absence of scriptural certainty, too large was the risk to return a worship not to a Ange but to a demon.

On the other hand Uriel is mentioned on several occasions in the Livre of Hénoch , like in the apocalypse of Esdras , which does not form part of the canonical Writings. In the book of Hénoch, it is known as of Uriel:

“Uriel is the angel which the Lord of glory appointed with all the stars which shine in the sky and light the Earth. ”

In Islam, one names it Azrael or the archangel of death.

Esotericism

Agrippa von Nettesheim mentions it with some recoveries in its Philosophie Occults ; For Clutched, Uriel is one of the four angels residing at the cardinal points of the sky, with Michael, Raphaël, Gabriel. It should be noted that they are many cardinal points the sky and not the terrestrial cardinal points. They are thus the points marking the beginning of the seasons. In astrology, the signs beginning the seasons are qualified cardinals. The four angels of Clutched thus control the seasons. Having noted that certain names of angels corresponded to the names of particularly virtuous biblical characters, thus Jérémiel would come from Jérémie, Zachariel de Zacharie, Uriel de Urie, etc, Agrippa concludes that the old ones venerated the angel, genius, or the good demon of these men. In the same way the names of characters particularly méprisables became names the bad one demons.

According to the rabbi kabbalist Abraham-Ben-Diot, all the patriarchs, the prophets and the wise philosophers had all angels which were familiar for them. Uriel, says it, was the angel of Esdras.

According to the cabalist Lenain, Uriel is one of the princes, or angels, controlled by Schebtaïel which dominates over the third sky and the third order intelligences, which controls the Saturn sphere.

For the anthroposophe Rudolf Steiner, Uriel is one of the four archangels associated with the seasons. It is associated with the summer.

Uriel is the angel which brings to Humanity the knowledge and the comprehension of the Divine one.

They is most radiant, most luminous of the angels, and it is often represented going down from the Sky on a fabulous carriage drawn by impetuous white horses.

It is known to be the Prince of Lumière and the interpreter of the Prophétie S.

Angel of the repentance, it helps us to include/understand the laws of the Karma, which in short, imply that we collect what we sowed.

Uriel explains us the divine mercy and makes us become aware that God cherishes each one of us.

Uriel with the reputation to be the most intelligent Angel. It is often seen holding up in his open hand the flame of the knowledge, to which the men can have access.
