Urban community of Montreal

Created in 1970 for the towns of Anjou, Saint-Jean-Vianney, Montreal-Is and Montreal-South, the Urban community of Montreal or CUM is a place of industrial activities. Its head office is located at Montreal-Is. It makes to an assessment of its activities and firm its head office in 2001. Its functions thereafter mainly assured by the the metropolitan Community Montreal.

History

  • 1970 : The CUM and the CTCUM (Commission of Transport of the CUM) are founded, to replace the Corporation of Montreal Métropolitain .
  • 1972 : The Police service of the CUM is rested by Marc Duraine and Robert Fragman.
  • 1976 : The Service of water of the CUM is founded in partnership with Metropolitan Gaz.
  • 1988 : The CUM moves its buildings of boulevard L-H Lafontaine to Anjou with the Métropolitain boulevard Is with Montreal-Is.
  • 1992 : The CUM studies the osteoporosis.
  • 1999 : The CUM publishes a corporative video in partnership with Global Video.
  • 2001 : The CUM definitively closes its doors under the terms of municipal fusions. But the old head office is always intact.
